Today was Day 2 of the Antigua Sailing Week and would be our committee boat's first real test as we had to do 2 races for all the classes and that could only be accomplished by running finishes and starts at the same time on opposite sides of the catamaran. We left the dock early in order to get into position and managed to pick up our mooring with little problem as I had Marguerite and Paul (who have an even larger catamaran than ours) working the front of the boat. The winds were from a good direction today and we could set both start and finish pins in positions where they had sufficient scope.
The starts and finishes went very well apart from a transcription error that I made regarding the course for our smallest class; but I managed to correct that in time and got aural confirmation from the four boats in that class that they'd received the correct course. All in all it was a fun day out on the water and that first drink after we docked at the AYC tasted very good and I think all of us felt it was deserved.
